Volunteers make Community Cancer Network WORK!

Since its inception, Community Cancer Network has relied on local volunteer support to meet the needs of individuals and families facing a cancer diagnosis. Our needs are as diverse as our clients. Volunteer supporters have different skills, time availability, areas of interest and roles. We welcome the opportunity to provide additional information so that individuals can determine how they might be of assistance in helping to improve the quality of life for our clients. We are currently seeking a larger pool of volunteer support to assist with such key activities as:

  1. Transportation for clients
  2. Food Pantry shopping, delivery and unpacking
  3. Fundraising &/or Special Events
  4. Administrative Support
  5. Sub-Committee Members
  6. Specialized Needs – i.e. Pet Care/Assistance, home delivery, follow-up communication & calls, appointment supporters, etc.

You can make the difference with your volunteer support.

  1. Complete a CCN Volunteer Application.
  2. Attend a CCN Volunteer Call-Out Opportunity!
  3. Indication your volunteer preferences, skills and areas of interest.
  4. Share the volunteer opportunity with your ministry team, group, social club, peer network, professional partners, etc.
  5. Determine if you are a daily, seasonal, “done in a day” or group volunteer.
  6. Schedule a follow-up conversation with Melinda Bond, Client Advocate, and/or a member of the Community Cancer Network Board of Directors.
  7. Share your positive experiences with others! Provide us with an opportunity to address any area of growth or challenge with your support.
  8. Consider a tax-deductible contribution as a mechanism for supporting the agency. Your support can be applied directly to the food pantry and transportation needs, or you can allow the agency to determine the best fit at any point in our daily operations.
  9. Always feel free to ask questions or gain additional information to make a good fit for your volunteer time.
  10. HAVE FUN! Helping others is contagious and we welcome the opportunity to work with you to “pay kindness forward!”
