Donate >The Top Ten Reasons to Support Community Cancer Network!
- CCN is a local organization that serves Tippecanoe and eleven area counties.
No national overhead or programs. Funding supplied to us stays in our service area, period.
- CCN was founded by doctors to respond to an observed patient need.
As we serve the patient, our roots are tied directly to their treatment and recovery, and as such CCN is not a “consumer activist” agency. 30% of our Board must be health care professionals per our constitution and bylaws. Doctors were seeing patients without food, transportation, housing, drugs, or emotional support. CCN was founded by them, and modeled on the two premier agencies of our type in the USA. We served over 300 patients in 2008 alone.
- CCN’s support to patients is not limited to one form of cancer, or even a group of cancers.
Cancer doesn’t discriminate, and neither do we. If you have cancer, we are here to help you.
- CCN is an independent 501c(3) public charity and is not part of any medical group. Your contribution may be tax-deductible: consult your tax wizard for specific information.
- CCN is not an institution-specific charity, supporting one hospital or laboratory. We think that where you decide to be treated is up to you and your doctors. If you live in our area, CCN will help you, no matter where you elect to receive treatment locally or elsewhere.
- CCN is very efficient. We have designed CCN to operate with the lowest level of expense using Lean management techniques one normally would find only in the best for-profit companies.
- CCN actively partners with ten area non-profit agencies to deliver improved services.
No other area non-profit has this level of contracted support! Working together, these partners have allowed CCN to rapidly build out capacity faster and with less duplication. Sharing services but not funding, CCN partners include the American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, Food Finders Food Bank, Area IV, Habitat for Humanity of Lafayette, Crisis Center, Benton County Cancer Association, Mid-Land Meals, Tippecanoe Community Health Clinic, and the YWCA Women’s Cancer Program. We are adding more partners all the time!
- CCN has the only professional Patient Advocate in the area that is a cancer survivor.
Many patients cite this as one reason why they chose CCN to help advise them. Wouldn’t you?
- All services of Community Cancer Network are provided at no charge to the patient.
- CCN’s services are available to everyone with cancer.
CCN’s Patient Advocacy services and many others are available to patients of all incomes and backgrounds, in full HPPA-compliant confidentiality.
